This is a web site (Wiki) for gathering resources and tips about walking, jogging, and running. It was created by the author of The Workout Log for a group of friends wanting to better their own health in 2007 by committing to more exercise. Bug Paul for the password if you want to edit something.

Carmel, Indiana-based running store with really knowledgeable staff. Go here for expert shoe and gear recommendations, and to find out about local area road races. Sometimes a visit to the store is a good enough motivation to keep putting the miles in.

Thanks Paul for creating this wiki, I think this is the place where we can communicate with each other about how we are doing and what we can expect. Well tonight we discovered we have a long way to go. But we will get there.
February 5th, a monday, is exactly 12 weeks before the race, so if by then we can do the 3 miles with not to much difficulty, then we can use Hal's guide to aid our running to mini marathon status.
Well, more posts the better, so keep up with your work out logs ya'll!

You're welcome. Trying to figure out the best way to have people use the site. I didn't even know there was a comments page, but it's cool that there is. Maybe everybody can make their own page and use it like a journal.
There's also a programming interface so I could actually have it post your workouts to a Wiki page and people can comment on them. Maybe that's too geeky :).
Hal's workout plan is pretty ambitious. It'd work if your 3-mile run is comfortable at the start, or at least you don't pass out from doing it. I think at this point it'd be rough--but I'm trying to get through the Couch-to-5K plan; maybe I'll feel better after that.

OK, I guess we can use this as a forum, not sure if everyone knows how to use this Wiki thing, or its just us that are using it :) I finally figured out how to make an account.. I thought for a second I was going to have to call Dave and ask him, if that happens he's allowed to kick me in the nuts or Dirty Trix's me... so Good thing I got it figured out.. and I got a freaking pic.. I'm damn near a hacker.
What I wanted to say was, how is everyone doing? How are the workouts coming? I am using the workout log, are others? I am not doing great, I need to step it up a lot, these next 2 weeks will have a LOT of influence on how much of a chance I have of completeing this mini.
